following the cancellation of Storming the Castle in Carrick this year, is there any news on whether the Antrim Coast Half Marathon will follow suit?

Harriet Bradford looks beaut

What date has it been moved to again?

Relay winner 2011, 2012 and 2013...three in a row . I never ran after 2013 so retired with the title

2011 was my favourite as a few months later picked up the Belfast relay title and downpatrick. Not bad for 21 and a 24hr race as well

What happens people who cant do sept and deferring to next year isnt an option ??

Thomas O'Hagan

Will you be allowing new entries for the new date?

Jim Lawrence

Bring on sept..🤗

Briege O'Hagan Bronagh Cushnahan at least we can defer till next year 👍

I would suppose there is not much need for a refund. I can make it in Sept but if i couldnt then I would have deffered to next year. There maybe be very few were this is just a one off and want thier money back. I assume there is some costs to setting this race up so why not doante it to these people who have given thier time and effort and with no fault of thiers have to cancel.

If we deferred prior to the postponement do we need to get in touch again (assuming not but just checking)?

***Marshal/Volunteer Update***We would like to remind all the dedicated people who came through to offer their services as marshals that the meeting scheduled for tomorrow night is no longer required. We would also like to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your support and patience throughout the last few weeks.Without people like you these events would never take place, its unfortunate that sometimes you are the forgotten people in the background, but you are really the backbone for every event and the sacrifice you all make is really appreciated by all involved at the Antrim Coast Half Marathon. We look forward to seeing you all in September with the same dedication that you always do. Many thanks, Antrim Coast Half Marathon Race Team ... See MoreSee Less

***COVID-19 - ANTRIM COAST HALF MARATHON UPDATE***With the fast developing news on the coronavirus situation we have taken the decision to postpone our race until September 12th 2020, we had been following the government’s guidelines throughout the past few weeks, although they remain the same there has been rapid escalating developments on the virus and inline with other major sporting events we have now decided that postponement is the way forward. We would like to thank everyone who has put a lot of hard work into the organisation of what promised to be the best race ever on this island and to put that into our own town and community was our main drive. All current entries will now be transferred to the new date 12/09/2020 On a more positive note and hoping that the pandemic we are now in will have passed we will be working behind the scenes to make this happen later in the year. See you all on September 12th and we thank you all for your patience while we took this decision. Antrim Coast Half Marathon Race Team ... See MoreSee Less

I can’t believe people are complaining about this decision. Have word with yourselves ffs.

Damned if you do, damned if you dont! Given the number of races in the calendar and the number of postponed races, it was always going to be a nightmare to get a date which didnt clash with something. I know it's frustrating for some, but remember, there are normal people, runners like you and me at the other end managing the Facebook page - don't be a dick 🍆

I hope potentially losing £30 is the worst thing that happens to everyone who entered in the up coming months. A bit of perspective please!

If you are gurning because this decision clashes with the great North run then have a wee word with yourself 🙄

The right choice. I actually can't believe people are going off on one about it not suiting their schedule 🙈. This should be the least of your worries.

Extremely difficult decision for all involved in the organisation of such an event, after so many voluntary hours of hard work and anyone who has ever been involved will appreciate that it is difficult to please everyone. This year in particular due to the Coronavirus outbreak has meant even more meetings and decisions. Looking forward to running it in September.

If your biggest problem six months from now is races clashing I think you can count yourself incredibly lucky.

Hopefully refund as unfortunately this date doesnt suit now

Is deferral our option then please for those of us already committed to the Great North Run?

Day before Great North Run. Bad choice of date. I hope my deferal still stands to next year

Yous made the right Decision Larne ac do yous not all no Covid-19 is killing people

Difficult decision, but the right decision.

See you on the 12th then 😊😊

Considering the circumstances it was the correct decision. Unfortunately some people won't be happy about the date but hey the race will go on and it will still be a fantastic event.

Hard decision. I look forward to running this in Sep... Was aiming for sub 2hr...my challenge now may be 1 hr 45😅😁

How and when will you offer refunds as you've picked the day before the GNR

Really disappointing. Was looking forward to it......

I'm booked for the gnr?!

Any chance you can do the same as the London winter run? They enable people to get their medal if they ran the distance and showed proof via Strava / runkeeper / Apple Watch etc .... race is now 3 weeks before London marathons rescheduled date ....

Fair play to you for making the right decision. Not an easy one but the right one. We will see brighter days and enjoy a cracking race!

Away at the GNR that weekend hope there’s a refund option

The right decision!

Johnny Stewart going to guess il miss the re scheduled date then unless your wedding is cancelled for coronavirus too 😂😂

Sad the race is postponed but it’s probably for the best considering the current climate. Looking forward to the 12th September. More time to train 😂 🏃🏽‍♀️

Took you a while, but at last you came to the right decision.
