action for children

Our vision is that every child and young person has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive. We protect and support children and young people. We do this by providing practical and emotional care and support. We make sure their voices are heard. And we campaign to bring lasting improvements to their lives.

BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION NORTHERN IRELAND

We are British Heart Foundation. Our vision is a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. We raise money to research cures and treatments, so we can give people more time with the ones they love.

CONCERN WORLDWIDE (UK)

Concern Worldwide is an international humanitarian organisation that strives for a world free from poverty, fear and oppression. We deliver life-saving and life-changing interventions to some of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people to make sure that no-one is left behind.

children’s kidney fund

The Children’s Kidney Fund NI is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting families across Northern Ireland who are affected by kidney-related issues in children. The fund aims to provide financial assistance, emotional support, and practical resources to families facing the challenges of caring for a child with kidney conditions.

Muscular Dystrophy UK – Northern Ireland

Muscles. We use them to move. Walk, eat, smile, cry. Pump blood around our bodies. To breathe in and out. Our muscles matter. We are the charity connecting a community of more than 110,000 people living with one of over 60 muscle wasting and weakening conditions, and all the people around them. So everyone can get the healthcare, support and treatments needed to feel good, mentally and physically. Together we are stronger. Join us!

White Ribbon NI

White Ribbon NI seeks to end violence against women and girls in all it’s forms through raising awareness and education.

Women’s Aid (Antrim, Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne & Newtownabbey)

Women’s Aid is the lead voluntary organisation in Northern Ireland addressing domestic abuse and providing services for women and children.

wELCOME ORGANISATION

The Welcome Organisation supports over 1,500 homeless people every year across our range of services: a Drop-in Centre, a Street Outreach service, Crisis Accommodation for Women, Catherine House (supported accommodation for women), Floating Support and our Mobile Health Unit.

Our Street Outreach team are on the streets of Belfast 20 hours a day providing on the ground support for the most vulnerable homeless people in the city – in particular people who are sleeping rough.

Our Drop-in Centre is open from 8am-6pm every day of the year and is for people who are homeless to have free access to showers, toilets, laundry facilities, internet and advice and support on housing, addictions, mental health and more.

Our Crisis Accommodation for Women provides ten beds for homeless women who would otherwise potentially spend the night sleeping on the streets, while Catherine House is a ten-bedroom facility for women who are ready to take the next steps out of homelessness.

Our Floating Support service provides support for people who have been homelessness but are now accommodated, with the aim of ensuring that once somebody gets a place to live they can retain that tenancy.

Our Mobile Health Unit, the only one of it’s kind in Northern Ireland, brings homeless health care directly to people on the streets. We work with the homeless nursing teams in the Belfast Trust and Western Trust to ensure that even the hardest to reach homeless people have access to healthcare.
